I am a ‘Potteries’ girl through and through, and have lived in Stoke on Trent all my life.
I starting my working life off as a ceramic artist and raised paste gilder at Mintons, Royal Doulton where I spent many happy years indulging my creative side.
As a child I was passionate about sport and spent my time running around trying every kind activity that I could find. This passion has stayed with me all my life and influenced my decision to become a Personal Trainer in 2006 and start my own company.
I love to be active so in my spare time you will find me at the driving range, whizzing around on my mountain bike, having fun on my yoga mat or hiking up a mountain...usually accompanied by my dog and my husband, Stu.
I discovered my passion for yoga over 20 years ago attending an Ashtanga yoga class at my local gym. I loved the way yoga made my body feel and the challenges it presented. At first I saw it purely as a workout until a new teacher introduced meditation to the class.
As a person that rarely sits still this was quite a shock to my system, but again I was absolutely fascinated by the effect it had on my mind and body, my anxiety levels dropped and my sleep patterns improved massively.
From that day I decided that I was going to be a yoga teacher and share my passion for the yogic lifestyle with my students. I completed my three year, Hatha Yoga, level 4, BWY Teacher training program with Sarah Beck. I practice weekly with Jill Amison as well as developing my own daily practice. I have been teaching since 2012 and love every second of it.
My passion for movement and the human body is reflected in the creative way that I teach my classes. I like to bring many different elements into my classes such as sound, stories, pictures, objects, whatever it takes to ignite the light in my students.
